About The Provider

Dr. May Thomassee, a board-certified gynecologist, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of menopause, menstrual disorders, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, benign ovarian cysts and pelvic and vulvar pain. She earned a medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport before completing an internship and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology and later a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

Dr. Thomassee eventually joined the Vanderbilt University staff and taught Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and served as gynecologic surgical curriculum director before moving to Lafayette to enter private practice. She is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, National Vulvodynia Association and Lafayette Parish Medical Society. She is a committee member for the Louisiana State Medical Society and a board member for the Woman’s Foundation.
