Pediatric neurologist Dr. Kenneth Habetz is a South Louisiana native Board certified in both child neurology and epilepsy. He earned a medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport before completing two residency programs covering pediatrics, adult neurology and child neurology at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. Afterwards, he completed a one-year epilepsy fellowship at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Dr. Habetz is a member of several professional organizations including the American Epilepsy Society, American Academy of Neurology, the Southern Pediatric Neurology Society, and Lafayette Parish Medical Society.

While his primary focus is epilepsy, Dr. Habetz also evaluates patients with abnormal movements, migraines, developmental delay, and a variety of other conditions. His team treats children across the state and puts particular emphasis on clear and accurate communication. Patients are treated as the individuals they are and receive the time and resources their unique cases require. This creates the holistic view required to individualize plans, align with the current best medical knowledge, and fit the needs of the patient and family.

When not practicing medicine or obsessing over his LSU Tigers, Dr. Habetz enjoys spending time with family, reading, and, in general, having a good time.
