Kelly Waldrop, a board-certified nurse practitioner, is part of the skilled, experienced provider team caring for the areas smallest patients in the FMOL Health |Our Lady of Lourdes Women's and Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. As Acadiana's only Level III Surgical NICU, the unit provides family centered care with access to local pediatric surgery and other subspecialists treating the unique healthcare needs of children born prematurely or with other health issues. After earning a bachelors degree in nursing from Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss., Waldrop completed a masters degree in nurse practitioner studies with a focus on neonatology from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. She worked in NICUs at hospitals in Mississippi, Tennessee and Kansas before joining Our Lady of Lourdes Women's & Children's Hospital.
