Nurse practitioner Kay Melancon is part of the growing Our Lady of Lourdes Physician Group Hospitalist team dedicated to providing the exceptional care patients need while in the hospital. She is versed in diagnosing and managing patients with acute and/or chronic conditions, providing comprehensive care to each person. After earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Our Lady of the Lake College in Baton Rouge (now Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FranU)), Melancon completed a master’s degree in nurse practitioner studies at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. She worked in intensive care, critical care and cardiovascular private practices in Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Opelousas and Lafayette before joining Our Lady of Lourdes Physician Group.
