About The Provider
Jo Lethermon, board-certified nurse midwife, works closely with the Pregnancy Navigator to help mom create the birth experience she desires. She provides natural childbirth techniques guidance, delivery, education on alternative labor pain control methods, and prenatal and postpartum care services.
Certified nurse midwives are registered nurses who successfully completed a national certification exam after graduating from a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education. They are specially trained in women’s health and are qualified to provide care to women from adolescence through menopause.
Jo earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Monroe before completing a doctorate in nursing practice at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She worked as a registered nurse at facilities in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Lake Charles, New Iberia, and Opelousas before joining Our Lady of Lourdes Physician Group.
