Palliative care nurse practitioner Jacqueline Deshotels specializes in improving the quality of life for people with serious, chronic or life-threatening illnesses. She is specially trained in managing complex medical symptoms and providing comprehensive care that addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients. After earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Deshotels completed a master’s degree in nursing at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches. She worked as a registered nurse in postpartum, home health and cardiology before joining the Our Lady of Lourdes Physician Group palliative care team.
