Dr. Gabriel Dersam is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon with the region’s only pediatric-focused orthopedic surgery practice caring for patients in the Lafayette and Lake Charles areas. His patient-centered, family focused approach to caring for Acadiana youth helps to foster trust and lasting relationships. He is well-versed in the diagnosis, treatment and management of bone fractures, club foot, hip dysplasia and cerebral palsy.



Dr. Dersam earned a medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine before completing a residency at the University of Minnesota and a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Gillett Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is board-certified through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

    The nurse's listen to any question we had and understand everything she had to tell the doctor

    The doctor gave the impression as to he wondered why we were there in the first place. We were referred there by the pcp, and he just stared at us waiting for us to say something several times. It was an awkward feeling.

    Dr. Dursem I want to personally thank you for addressing concerns that have trouble my heart for the longest. Thank you for taking time to listen and as you quoted "treat my daughter as if she were your own" . You are amazing and definitely called to walk in this path with our family. Gods blessings
