Chukwudi Ejiofor, MBBS, MPH, a board-certified neonatologist, is part of the skilled, experienced and knowledgeable provider team caring for the area’s smallest patients in the Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. As Acadiana’s only Level III Surgical NICU, the unit provides family centered care with access to local pediatric surgery and other subspecialists treating the unique healthcare needs of children born prematurely or with other health issues. Dr. Ejiofor earned a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Anambra, Nigeria, before completing a master’s degree in public health with a focus on maternal and child health from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, a pediatrics residency at Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center in Brooklyn, New York, and a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at the University of South Florida at Tampa. He is certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Ejiofor is a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, American Public Health Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
