About The Provider

Chance Dewitt, MD, a native of Alexandria, Louisiana is a cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon with Lourdes Cardiovascular Clinic. He is credentialed in the Central Louisiana area with Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital and Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He attended Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge where he majored in microbiology and graduated in 1991.  At that time, he was admitted to LSU Medical College in Shreveport, LA and completed his studies there in 1994. 

He then completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 2001. And completed his fellowship in Thoracic Surgery at the University of Texas in Houston at Texas Heart Institute where he had the privilege of studying under the direction of Dr. Denton Cooley. 

Dr. DeWitt is Board Certified with the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Thoracic Surgeons. He is a member of the LA State Medical Society, Rapides Parish Medical Society, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Southern Thoracic Surgical Association, the Harwell Wilson Surgical Society and Cooley Hands Society.
