Angelle Dartez, a board-certified nurse midwife, works closely with our highly skilled, experienced team that includes OB Hospitalists and the Pregnancy Navigator to help mom create the birth experience she desires. She provides childbirth technique guidance, delivery, education on alternative labor pain control methods and prenatal and postpartum care services.  

Certified nurse midwives are registered nurses who successfully completed a national certification exam after graduating from a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education. They are specially trained in women’s health and are qualified to provide care to women from adolescence through menopause.  

Angelle earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette before completing a master’s degree in nurse midwifery studies at Loyola University in New Orleans. She worked as a registered nurse in the Mother-Baby and Labor & Delivery units at FMOL Health | Our Lady of Lourdes Women’s & Children’s Hospital before joining FMOL Health | Our Lady of Lourdes Physician Group.  

Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board, Angelle is a member and serves on the governing board for the Louisiana Affiliate for the American College of Nurse Midwifery.
