Specializing in oncology, Dr. Joseph Brierre has been practicing medicine in Lafayette for more than 25 years and has earned a reputation as one of the most well established and respected physicians in the community. Over the years he has gained a great deal of experience and knowledge in the treatment of cancer, allowing him to provide excellent care for his patients and their families.



Dr. Brierre earned a medical degree from LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. He later completed both an internship and residency at University of Alabama Birmingham Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the same institution. Dr. Brierre is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a Medical Oncology Subspecialty.
